American Freedom

There are many reasons why the First Amendment is important. For example, you can speak about whatever you want. Also, it says in the Amendment you have the right to have any opinion. Additionally, I learned from the news the Pope is coming to America for a speech. Freedom of Speech gives us the right to speak about what we want in public. In the news, the Pope was meeting with many people in public. He will share his ideas and he will express his feelings. I think it is a good thing that people have the right to say what they want.

The Importance of Freedom of Religion

Our country is a society built on freedom . While all our freedoms are spectacular, I believe that the greatest of them is freedom of religion. As stated in the first Amendment to the United States Constitution, freedom of religion prevents our govenunent from forcing citizens to practice any single kind of religion. Thanks to this wonderful Amendment, all sorts of religious practices have taken root and spread in our beloved country, from Catholicism to Hinduism .

Freedom of Speech Leads to Ingenuity

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right in American society. The ability to express ideas and opinions has shaped our democracy. Not only is free speech an intrinsic liberty, but it serves as the foundation for other rights by allowing them to flourish. Greenwich High School Student, Olivia Hallisey recently made headlines for her breakthrough discovery of a more efficient way to detect Ebola. Learning about her achievement, I began to reflect upon the rife ingenuity in our nation. America prides itself in the constant generation of creative and innovative ideas.

One Liberty Observation Deck

See Philadelphia from an entirely new perspective.

The History

For nearly a century, Philadelphia’s City Hall reigned over Philadelphia as the tallest building in town. That distinction came to an end in 1987 and since then, nearly a dozen buildings have been constructed that have surpassed the height of Philadelphia’s City Hall.  Despite this, for many years, Philadelphia’s City Hall remained the home of the highest public observation deck in the city.

The History

When William Penn first planned the street grid of Philadelphia in 1682, the land on which Philadelphia’s City Hall now stands was called Centre Square and was designed to be the center of Philadelphia, not just geographically, but of city government as well.
